Diagnostic imaging plays a central role in the diagnostic process, both for the initial evaluation of the patient and for monitoring the effects of medical therapy.
The close collaboration between the attending physician and the radiologist allows for integrated image analysis, enabling a precise and effective initial diagnosis.
The Diagnostic Imaging department at Arsbiomedica clinic, located in the heart of North Rome, is capable of performing both non-contrast and contrast-enhanced studies in adults and pediatric patients of various organs and systems, using state-of-the-art equipment and techniques.
Specifically, the clinic is equipped to perform digital radiography, bedside radiographic examinations, multidetector spiral CT scans, 3 Tesla MRI scans, as well as ultrasound, echocardiography, and color Doppler ultrasound examinations of all areas.
The Diagnostic Imaging department is organized to ensure reduced waiting times with scheduled access, while also ensuring the management of emergencies 24/7, including holidays.
All diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are performed with full transparency. Patients are always provided with information about the procedures to be performed and any alternatives, including the type and mode of examination (e.g., with or without anesthesia).
MRI 3 TESLA Rome
Cutting-edge diagnostic technology at your service!
The Imaging Diagnostics at Arsbiomedica Clinic is now enhanced with the installation of the latest model of 3 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) by GE Healthcare. The 3 Tesla MRI ensures significantly faster and more accurate diagnostic examinations compared to previous technologies, all while offering a new standard of comfort for the patient thanks to AIR technology.
The new MRI enables precise morpho-functional analysis, which can be extended to the molecular level, investigating the biochemical substrate of pathological conditions and allowing for an in-depth study of:
- Organs such as the prostate, kidneys, liver, pancreas…
- Small volume regions (pituitary gland, hippocampus, brainstem, cranial nerves)
- Many other neurological conditions such as epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and nervous system neoplasms
- Cerebral ischemia
Equally advanced are the imaging capabilities and functional analysis applications for the heart.
Our Radiology Team consists of top-notch professionals to meet all needs, and together with the most modern diagnostic technologies, they ensure extremely high-quality standards.

Radiology
The Radiology Service utilizes state-of-the-art digital equipment; X-ray attenuation is no longer recorded and represented using radiographic film but rather through detectors directly connected to the computer.
The benefits of Digital Radiology are numerous, ranging from the ability to reduce radiation dose to improving image quality, transmitting images remotely, and archiving them on compact optical media for quick access.
At Arsbiomedica, all radiological imaging tests are performed, both with and without contrast agents, utilizing portable devices that can be brought directly to the patient’s bedside.
- traditional radiology;
- study of the upper gastrointestinal tract;
- double-contrast barium enema;
- urography and cystourethrography;
- radiographic study of the spine in weight-bearing, dynamic, and with measurements;
- radiographic study of the foot in weight-bearing and dynamic;
- hysterosalpingography;
- mammography and breast imaging (3D Tomosynthesis);
- interventional radiology.
Ultrasound scans/echography
Ultrasound is an essential diagnostic tool in modern imaging.
It is a quick, rapid, and completely non-invasive examination capable of providing clinically relevant information; at Arsbiomedica, we use state-of-the-art ultrasound machines, some of which are ultra-portable, allowing examinations to be performed in the room to accommodate patients with reduced or absent mobility. With this method, we are able to study: abdomen, heart, musculoskeletal, and endocrine systems.
The examination is reported promptly, and the results are available to the patient immediately after the procedure.
- Interventional;
- gynecological;
- Doppler ultrasound;
- Color Doppler ultrasound;
- Cardiac color Doppler ultrasound;
- Transesophageal color Doppler ultrasound;
- Interventional.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
(MRI) from GE Healthcare.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging is a diagnostic test that allows visualizing the interior of our body without the need for ionizing radiation and is particularly useful for obtaining detailed images of the brain, spine, and spinal cord, as well as applications in oncology, orthopedics, vascular, and gastroenterology fields.
The technology available at Arsbiomedica represents the forefront of diagnostic imaging, allowing for significantly faster and more accurate diagnostic examinations compared to previous technologies, all while providing a new standard of comfort for the patient thanks to AIR technology.
The average duration of the exam ranges from twenty to thirty minutes depending on the body areas to be examined.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging is a safe and completely harmless investigation for the human body. The absence of ionizing radiation makes it particularly suitable for repeating exams at short intervals. MRI equipment has undergone a constant process of technological evolution over the years, increasingly gaining a primary role in the diagnosis of numerous diseases, so it is essential that the exam be performed with recently built machines. With the equipment installed at Arsbiomedica, operating at a high magnetic field of 3 TESLA and equipped with all the necessary software and AIR technology for sophisticated MRI studies, the following exams with three-dimensional reconstruction can be performed:
- Brain MRI with diffusion and perfusion; study of cerebrospinal fluid flows;
- MRI of the auditory nerves, oral floor, and temporomandibular joints;
- MRI of the spine and spinal cord;
- Breast MRI, chest, and mediastinum;
- Abdominal MRI, MR cholangiography, MR urography;
- Fetal, neonatal, and pediatric MRI;
- Cardiac MRI;
- MR angiography;
- MRI of any body district, also under sedation or general anesthesia.
CT (Computed Tomography)
The Arsbiomedica Clinic has equipped itself with a state-of-the-art 512-slice TacRevolution Apex GE equipment, which allows for the following in addition to routine CT scans:
- Cardiac CT with coronary artery assessment
- Whole-body CT
- Total body CT with spectral technique
- Pulmonary screening with dedicated software
- Virtual colonoscopy
- CT angiography of cranial arteries, neck arteries, arteries of the lower limbs, thoracic and abdominal aorta with 3-D reconstruction
- Uro-CT
- Spinal CT with 3-D reconstruction
- CT-guided biopsies
CT diagnostic examinations are performed using the most advanced reconstruction software and with a significant reduction in ionizing radiation dose (up to 50%) compared to traditional CT scans.
