Breast ultrasound is a completely non-invasive and painless examination that can also be performed on pregnant women. It is conducted using high-frequency ultrasound waves, allowing the physician to visualize the anatomical and structural composition of the breast, enabling the examination of any nodules, cysts, altered lymph nodes, or inflamed tissues detected during the breast examination.

The examination does not require any preparation.

Ultrasound is one of the primary level examinations that all women over 35 should undergo annually for breast cancer prevention. Until the age of 40, breast ultrasound remains the primary preventive tool for women embarking on a prevention journey, as mammography is not recommended before the age of 40 due to the structural characteristics of the breast itself.
