For a woman, breast health is both essential and delicate—a journey of diagnostic and screening milestones in which she deserves to feel truly supported at every stage. This is one of the core missions of the Arsbio Woman Center, where, in a single facility and under the expert guidance of a highly specialized medical team, each woman is welcomed and entrusted to a multidisciplinary team that includes radiologists, gynecologists, psychologists, oncologists, surgeons, plastic surgeons, and reconstructive surgeons.

Why Trust Us? Why Choose the Breast Center at Clinica ArsbioMedica in Rome?

We discuss this with Professor Oreste Bonomo, Professor of General Surgery and Head of the Arsbio Woman Center.

Professor, what led you to choose Clinica ArsbioMedica to lead a Breast Center?

My journey began in 1991–1992, during the early years of a now well-known yet still relevant technique: Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy. I chose to work at the Arsbio Woman Center because it was the first private facility in Rome equipped with a nuclear medicine department. This meant having access to all the necessary resources to establish a modern, structured oncology center, integrating every step from advanced diagnostics to definitive treatment, including radiotherapy and oncological therapies.

Who are the specialists at the Arsbio Woman Breast Center?

At the Arsbio Woman Center, we have built an outstanding team composed of both university-affiliated and independent professionals who work seamlessly together in the complex field of breast cancer care. More broadly, our mission extends to women over 40, the age at which breast health prevention becomes essential.

Our team has been working together for at least two decades, if not longer. Here, oncologic and reconstructive surgery go hand in hand, creating a true collaborative approach. In the operating room, we always work in tandem—one surgeon performing tumor removal, the other leading reconstruction. This synergy allows us to achieve truly excellent results, as consistently affirmed by the women who entrust us with their care.

Why Are Early and Regular Check-Ups Essential?

Early detection means higher chances of a cure. It’s a reality we must acknowledge: one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. However, the good news is that 90% of them can be cured—provided the diagnosis is made early. At Arsbio Woman Center, we stay at the forefront of breast diagnostics, from interventional procedures to cutting-edge medical oncology.

Early diagnosis is our most powerful weapon for achieving a 100% cure rate. If we act in time, we can close the gap that still exists in survival rates. Our center is equipped with the most advanced tools available, ensuring that diagnoses are made with unparalleled precision. Here, we can detect tumors as small as 2mm—the very first stage of the disease. When caught this early, surgical removal is a definitive solution, and full recovery is the outcome.

What Are the Benefits of Choosing the Arsbio Woman Breast Center?

At our center, comprehensive patient care is paramount. From the moment a woman walks in, she is greeted by professionals trained specifically in breast health—experts who understand the entire diagnostic and treatment process and can navigate every challenge, whether it’s a surgical complication, an oncological concern, or an uncertain diagnosis.

Every step of the journey is carefully orchestrated under a single coordinated approach, ensuring that each woman receives a complete, 360-degree solution tailored to her needs.

From the first consultation to post-operative care, from first- and second-level diagnostics to biopsies, and even throughout surgical procedures, every patient has access to psychological support provided by the clinic.

At the heart of our approach is the woman herself—balanced between quality and longevity. When we talk about “quantity,” we refer to life expectancy; when we speak of “quality,” we emphasize the well-being and excellence of both treatment and recovery. Our mission is to ensure not only survival but also a life worth living—one defined by health, confidence, and peace of mind.
